 Epilogue

Here, the journey through SMU TESOL MA Program is about to end. My goal was to be an expert in teaching English in the beginning of this course. I wanted to refine my English skills so as to use those skills in teaching. For this goal, many subjects regarding teaching were taken. For example, teaching writing, teaching reading, computer mediated communication in language education and practicum I, II were taken. However, I realize there is much further way toward my goal and I set several steps to reach it. This portfolio shows some evidences of my effort. I believe this effort will be sound seeds to grow into forest someday.

English in Action classes showed me excellent models for not only teaching English writing also teaching language. We could explore diverse writing activities with infinite teaching materials and tasks. It was possible thanks to the brilliant little siblings and always supportive Dr. van Vlack. Dr. Rozells was also willing to advise us to get through every difficulty in this course. I especially appreciated warm-hearted small presents from two professors. English in Action class was not easy, but I think I was lucky to have a chance to be with it.

I am going to reflect on my experiences with EIA, AR project, and all other SMU TESOL courses within my teaching context. As a teacher or as one kind of gardners, I will keep calm and go forward with my goal.

  Thank you.
